Finale
Yby Potlatch is an omni artist who creates estranging, raw and pure musical compositions for e.g. modern dance, film, theatre, expositions and documentaries. Yby has developed a completely own vocal and musical style. In her vocals Yby uses only tones and sounds purely based on emotions, no existing language. This style, with a wide perspective of tones and sounds, comes down to being able to letting yourself go completely, without shame, obligations or restraint. You get to know yourself, you learn to listen more carefully and you learn to use the sounds of your environment and of the universe. This is a very distinctive feature in her compositions.
Yby’s objective is to achieve harmony and balance with her compositions, helping you to recover your own identity, feel the harmony with the universe again, see the relation between everyone and everything. After all, we all are connected, and we are supposed to stand by each other in this world. She believes that people should have more respect for all living creatures around us. As long that is not reached, her music and canto will remain telling us about the story and the pain of mother earth. She wants to protect her for eternity, because Yby loves her from the depth of her soul.
Everyone on this planet can help out to create an agreeable place to live in, for starters by showing yourself to yourself, throwing away that massive ego and wanting to grow to be a true being. Furthermore meaning that you no longer numb yourself by drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, tobacco, sugar, coffee, milk, chemical flavourings, additives and meat etc. You help to make an agreeable world to live in, and have respect for other creatures and not only yourself. Yby says: “I can assure you that if you live that way, you are a remarkable example, an intelligent creature and I am relieved that you exist. Without this way of living I would not be genuine, it would be a spectacle, an opera that is not pure. Everywhere around us there is so much decoration and mannerism to be seen. I want to taste the truth, the raw, the pureness of existence. See the real you, see the real me, so that we truly can communicate openly”.
